Writing for the East Tennessean has truly been a blessing in my life this semester. I want to thank all my readers for your kind words and support.
Each of you have given me the strength and inspiration to continue writing. I appreciate your compliments; however, I can’t fully take credit for what I write. Before I begin writing an article, I pray that God will open my heart and give me the words to touch each person who reads it. I have to give God all the credit for what I do. Without him behind me, I would be nothing.
I don’t consider myself talented, but I do believe that God has given me a writing ability and I plan on continuing to use it for his worthy cause. Nothing is more worthy than God and his word. I simply want to do his will and through these articles I feel that I am making him proud.
God has given each of us a talent, an ability and an opportunity to use it, but most of us are afraid to actually do so. It all comes down to your faith in the Lord. Whether you are blessed with a beautiful singing voice, a musical talent, public speaking ability, mission work, building, painting or even something as simple as smiling, you must use that ability for the Lord.
The Bible tells us in 2 Chronicles 31:21 (KJV) “And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.”
He gives each of us something special. It is just another blessing he gives to us, but in return we must bless him by using our talents to glorify his name!
It takes a lot of courage to step out on that faith in the Lord and do his will, but we must trust and obey him. God is the potter and we are the clay. We must allow him to move through us and mold us into something wonderful. If your heart is closed to him, he cant bless you. But when your heart is open and you are willing to give God your everything, he will continually use you for his will and bless your life immensely.
Deuteronomy 28:12 (KJV) says, “The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand.”
Use your talents for God’s glory and he will bless you in return. Trust him. Obey him. Allow him to mold you! Give him all the glory and all the credit!
