Casting Crowns’ song, “Praise You In This Storm,” comes to my mind every time I am in a difficult situation.
“And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am,
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side,
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm”
We all face hard times in our lives and situations we aren’t strong enough on our own to handle. Thankfully God knows all and sees all! He knows your heart, he understands what you are going through and he is strong enough to hold your tears in his hand. He is always there waiting on you to call out to him. It is easy to think that no one else cares what you are going through, understands or wants to hear you whine, but simply put your faith in God, and call out to him. We need to stop worrying so much about what other people think! That first step is always the hardest, it takes the most courage, but thankfully the second and third steps follow right behind, adding more and more courage with each one!
It is so easy to get caught up in your day-to-day routine of running errands, studying, working, complaining and promising too many people our time. You make obligations to everyone, don’t you? But is God even on that list?
Through the whole scheme of life it all comes down to your happiness and your faith in God, time for yourself, time to reflect on who you are. Does it make you proud to think of the person you have become? If not, change it! Pray for guidance and strength and you will be amazed at how he can take hold and change your life! Take a second and reflect. Did you thank God today, or tell one person that Jesus loves them?
Each day is one more precious day that we are blessed with to glorify the Lord. Give him the credit he deserves! Thank him today. Throw up your hands and praise Him in the storm.
