One single word can mean so much to a person. One word can change the way a person views this world. One word can brighten someone’s entire day. And one word can mean an eternity of happiness.
A simple, four letter word … the word LOVE. We have all experienced some type of love throughout our lives. Whether it is the love from a parent, a friend, a spouse, or even the love of a child or a pet, we have all felt that unbelievable unconditional love. A type of love that makes you smile, even when you’re alone and everything is quiet. A type of love that makes you look forward to waking up everyday. A type of love that is indescribable and almost unimaginable.
I have been very blessed throughout my life. God has blessed me with tremendous love from every direction of my life. Everyday, I feel love from my incredible parents, my wonderful friends, my supportive church family, the amazing love of my life, and most importantly I feel unconditionally loved by God.
Some people look their entire lives for love; however, they never seem happy with what they find. Sometimes these people get so caught up in trying to find love that they forget to look in the most important place. We must look to God for love. God’s love for us is greater than any other love on this earth. At times, it is hard to imagine being loved that much, but sometimes, when you really open your heart to God, you can actually feel it. I can feel his love everyday all around me. I feel it when the sun shines on my face; I feel like when the wind blows through my hair; I feel it in the quiet of the night and even the calmness of the morning. His love surrounds me; it surrounds us everyday.
The Bible tells us in Romans 8:39, “Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God’s love for us is unconditional. He loves us at our highest of highs and even our lowest of lows. God loved you so much that he sent his only son to suffer and die on the cross for your sins. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
He did that for us dying sinners. HE DID THAT FOR YOU. All he asks in return for his beautiful gift to us is that we give our lives completely over to him. He longs for us to trust in him and do his will through our lives.
I am so thankful for the cross and the suffering Jesus went through for my sins. I am so blessed to be loved that much!
We are all loved by God. His love for us is greater than the greatest of love we have felt here on earth. For that one word is the basis we need for eternity. God is one word … God is love!
