I have been continually blessed this semester by writing these articles. I have deeply enjoyed getting my thoughts out on paper and sharing God’s word with all my readers.
I have felt so uplifted from all of the supportive comments and e-mails I received. You are all angels in my life. Thank you.
This semester I have written about a variety of subjects throughout my articles: death, joy, God’s love, fighting depression, praising God, using talents, prayer and some others, but I have bounced all around one very important subject . salvation.
Salvation through God’s love is the most amazing part of my life. I know, without a doubt, that God has saved my soul. I know, without a doubt, that on my judgment day God will welcome me into his eternal kingdom with open arms.
One morning when I was 8 years old, I was sitting with my parents in church. I usually didn’t pay much attention to anything going on around me. But something the preacher said caught my attention quickly.
He was preaching on hell that morning. I knew it was a place I NEVER wanted to see.
I felt the Lord all around me, tugging on me, telling me that I was a sinner, but he loved me anyway. I know I had to ask him into my heart. Right then, I couldn’t wait another second. I grabbed my parents and walked to the altar.
That morning I admitted to God that I was a sinner and I was lost. I wanted to spend forever in heaven with God and the angels.
I simply asked God to come into my heart and be the light in my life. I wanted to live for him and his glory from that day on. I was saved by the grace of God.
Living in this world today is a scary thought, but hell is an eternity of suffering. If you accept God and are saved by his amazing grace, this world is as close to hell as you will ever see, but if you are lost, this world is as close to heaven as you will ever see. Think about that for a minute. If you are lost, this world is as close to heaven as you will ever see. Matthew 25:42, 46, “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. (46) And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
God sent his only son, Jesus, to this world for YOU. He was mocked and persecuted everyday for YOU. Jesus was beaten and carried his heavy cross miles uphill to calvary for YOU! Jesus suffered and died hanging on that cross for YOU. He arose three days later for YOU! If that isn’t proof of his love for YOU, a lost sinner, than nothing is.
John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
God longs for you. God loves you. He wants you to spend eternity in his kingdom with him where all is beautiful and wonderful, not to suffer, burning in a miserable hell day after day.
If you are lost, I pray for you and your soul. I pray that you decide to find God before it’s too late.
On that judgment day, will you regret not taking advantage of all the opportunities God gave you?
Romans 5:1-2, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
Today is never too late, but tomorrow may be. Ask God to take the reins in your life. Ask him to come into your heart and life.
Salvation is the only way to God’s kingdom. Live for him today, everyday and live for him in eternity.
I wish you all a merry Christmas! I hope you remember the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus’ birthday, as you celebrate with your families. Be safe. I look forward to next semester.
