Bryant reaches out
Mr. Prairie View A&M University is one who reigns superior in "Pantherland." He is given the opportunity to become a student ambassador on campus, implementing progress in all forms. In spring 2012, Timothy Bryant, was crowned 2012-2013 Mr. Prairie View A & M University. As his reign began, it was the start of putting his platform into effect by "cultivating a community of excellence."
From Houston, Texas, Bryant gives the utmost respect and recognition to his father, who is also his best friend, for assisting in molding him into the man he is today. When asked what life lessons he applies to his day-to-day life, and what has helped him along his journey thus far,
he said, "You might not be the best, but you should always do your best."
Bryant explains that we, as people, are looking for some sort of satisfaction which cannot be achieved if one does not give their all. Bryant's purpose for entering the pageant was not for the title, but for the things he could help implement on campus. He believes the university has given him an education in the classroom, but most importantly, an education on life. Therefore, he wanted to utilize his senior year to do something productive, and meaningful.
Bryant described his favorite experience as the Panther Camp building challenge.
He explained, "This was a great experience because I got to witness the dreams and goals of the freshmen, along with the school spirit, and seeing the future of PV first hand. There was a lot of potential. I could look in the eyes of some of those freshmen and see their drive."
In addition, Bryant had good things to say about his counterpart, Miss Prairie View A&M University, Chasmine Cousins.
He said, "She makes my job very easy, being very articulate, a woman of class, and always straight to the point with everything. She naturally brings people to her. It's a beautiful thing."
Before becoming Mr. PV, Bryant was a quarterback and outside linebacker for the Panther football team. He was also a part of the 2009 SWAC champions. Bryant is a member of Brothers Leading and Cultivating Knowledge, Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences. Bryant is an agriculture major with a concentration in economics. He is plans to graduate in May 2013 in which he will carry out his platform even then, by bringing companies and countries together in excellence.
He said, "Globalization is taking place, so we are not only competing among ourselves, but with China and other industrial countries as well."
He hopes to further his education after graduation, with dreams of becoming a founder of a holding company, and being the "ideal man." He said, "The ideal man puts God first, protects, and provides for his family, by any means necessary."
