Soccer team dominates Texas College
Sending Texas College home with an "L" on their record Prairie View's Lady Panther soccer team got its first win of the season beating Texas College 5-0 in the first home game of the year.
The Lady Panthers were on fire their first home game giving Texas College's goalie Diana Martinez a run for her money, and then taking it within the first four minutes of the game when senior Yosselyn Aguilar scored the first goal with an assist from junior Angie Guillory to give the Panthers an early 1-0 lead on Texas College.
Not letting up the Panthers pushed the entire game giving no breathing room senior Katherine Sheppard assisted sophomore Gabriela Ramos with the second team goal giving a 2-0 lead to the Panthers. The Lady Panthers had a total of 13 shots giving Texas College only one shot attempt in the entire game.
Ramos and sophomore Ariana Roundtree had the most goals sharing two apiece to contribute to their team's 4-0 first half lead.
The Panthers came out the second half with a comfortable lead, trying to extend it, but Texas College held its ground in the second half. Stopping the Panthers from scoring majority of the half they pressed Texas College harder. Falling to the pressure the Panthers strategized and in the second half with 5:54 left on the clock. Winning the game with a 1-4 record for the season.
