Living in the UC helps freshmen

Freshman year of college is where most students get their first taste of freedom, a real chance to do what they want, when they want, how they want. Although receiving a higher education is initially what students come for, the college experience also provides an avenue to help people find and mold themselves. Altogether, college is a collection of moments that is savored forever.
Before school starts, University College, or the UC, as it is commonly referred to, is bombarded with students from all around the country, unpacking belongings, filled with thoughts of upcoming parties, homecoming week, and Greek life.
Freshman mass communication major Tasia Holyfield said, "The atmosphere is very friendly, and it's like a huge block party every night."
The UC is accommodating to all of its tenants. It
has property curfew and visitation restrictions, which are intended for safety and protection. However, there are many new responsibilities that the freshmen hold, which they will have to adapt to.
Freshman nursing major Ledreya Washington said, "College is the chance to grow and through the UC programs and many college organizations, I await more and more opportunities to do so."
UC life acts a stepping-stone into the real world and promotes growth within each student, both educationally and mentally.
Sophomore marketing major Rahni Johnson said, "If you're a freshman and you don't' live in the UC, you will be missing out on the full PVAMU experience."
