PV fashion show does not shock or awe

 Picture yourself at any event at Prairie View A&M University.
Have any of them ever started on time?
Have they been well organized?
Have the talent shows and pageants had consistently good, fully prepared talent?
Take the Spring Fest Fashion Show for instance.
Most students, parents, administrators, and supporters alike filed into Babydome around 7 p.m., at least 30 minutes before the show was supposed to start.
The DJ continued to play music, attempting to keep people engaged while waiting an additional 30 minutes for the show to actually start.
The fashion show was creatively titled Our Renaissance. It showcased several different time periods, leading up to the present, using items from thrift stores and each designer's clothing line.
The show began with a video of the three directors in a car, listening to different radio stations representing of each time period: Renaissance, Motown, Woodstock, the 90's, and present day.
The video would have been the perfect way to clearly introduce the idea, had the directors actually been dancing to the music on beat.
The two hosts did an excellent job in commanding the audience's attention before each showcase by way of their vibrant voices and presence.
Although, they used an unnecessary amount of time for outfit changes that did not adequately measure up to or actually represent each time period.
As the models began to strut their stuff on the runway, it became more and more apparent to me that one, the model's outfits were not representative of the set time period, and two, they had not practiced enough to walk in their heels or dress shoes.
As if that were not enough, some of the "fits" were extremely too revealing. I would not want the president, executive or assistant directors, or even my mama to see all of that a** hanging out. To say the least about the outfits chosen, not everything is meant for everybody!
Despite the many errors, some were really out there doing their thing.
And what was up with that super long intermission with random dudes performing out of nowhere? Rapping something about "rocking and rolling?" Um, I need you to rock and roll out of the Babydome. Who are you?
Do not get me wrong, it did seem like a lot of time and effort was put into the fashion show together, but there were too many things going on. Overall, the show did not grasp the concept that was originally intended. The concept was great, but was not executed well.
