University Village welcomes new residents to luxury amenities
The fall 2013 semester welcomes University View, the hottest new place to live on Prairie View A&M's campus. This luxurious and private spot is built specifically for the professional and graduate students on campus. Upon applying to live at this location students had to have cumulated 60 credit hours and at least a 3.0 GPA.
Residents can choose from 2 to 4 bedroom, fully furnished apartments with individual liability leases and the amenities are endless. Each apartment has private rooms for the residents, including their own individual restrooms. As well as dishwashers, and a washer and dryer, so no need to visit the washateria on the weekends! The amenities don't stop there , residents have access to a huge clubhouse, complete with a state-of-the-art 24 hour fitness center, computer center, arcade games, pool tables, Xbox, and big screen TVs with Netflix access.
Outside students can enjoy the latest movies and sports games on the TV located on the patio, which includes comfortable seating and a fireplace for the cooler nights ahead. Residents can also take advantage of the basketball courts, barbecue grills and onsite parking.
The residents living in the View are equipped with special tags for their vehicles and keys to unlock the surrounding privacy gates, their own apartment doors, and the clubhouse to ensure their safety. Students are allowed visitors but are responsible for their behaviors while they visit. Briana Catley, Junior, Mass Communications Major said, "I would consider living in the View, the amenities are better, as well as the higher levels of security between the cameras and locks; the only problem I would have is the bugs." Many faculty and staff have agreed that it's a beautiful addition to the campus, and are highly impressed upon visiting the site.
Organizations are welcome to host events or seminars in University View at the clubhouse or in the courtyard as long as they have permission from the general managers of the property. "We do not want students and staffs to feel blocked off from the rest of campus; organizations and students are welcome to share their ideas for events," Said Lakisha Ray, Assistant General Manager of University View.
Along with the polite on-site staff, residents are enjoying their stay at the new on campus living spaces. "I enjoy living in the View. It's a peaceful change from my past experiences in University Village. Although the Wi-Fi does not work properly 100% of the time, improvements have been made. I would definitely encourage the next upperclassmen to live here," said Marialle Mitchell, senior, business marketing major.
It's safe to say that University View is the best place to live on PVAMU's campus. For more information on University View check out their website, www.universityviewpv.com, or stop by the clubhouse. The friendly staff would be more than welcome to give you a tour and let you know if future rooms are available.
