Panther Advisor Leaders help prepare freshmen
ise known as P.A.L.S, is an organization of student leaders who put much time and effort into moving the university forward while instilling and maintaining the Panther Pride within each student.
This organization helps incoming freshmen make a smooth transition from high school to college life.
"This organization is normally looked at as another hype crew or just there to help out with Panther camp, but it's so much more," said Tim Martin senior music performance major and African American studies minor.
Freshmen not only get a chance to participate in character building activities, which could set the tone for the entire freshman year, but they also see first hand what life is like for the upperclassmen.
The P.A.L.S help freshmen learn the history of Prairie View A&M University and make close friends with those they wouldn't see on a day-by-day basis.
"P.A.L.S is a way to speak communicate to the students that college is all what you make it and that you have the power to make your collegiate career a successful one," said Mahaila Smith senior human performance major.
The P.A.L.S also gain benefits just like freshmen. They obtain time management skills, become more outspoken, and build solid friendships that could last a lifetime.
"I love P.A.L.S. It has help me become a better leader and honed my mentoring skills," said Devin Adams, a senior music education major.
P.A.L.S are meant to carry out a mission and that is to uphold the spirit and pride of this great institution, in all.
