Why the ingredients of love
Keep missing from our lives.
If only we could quantify
The correct amount so that
We would be lovers forever.
Why is it so hard to
Keep the pieces of love together.
I try so hard to be the best
For her only to be despised and rejected.
Why the taste of our love
Keeps changing from sweet to sour
And from sour to sweet.
I try each day to discover her world,
But only to be greeted with impediments.
Why can't we get it right?
I'm tired of submitting myself to abuse.
I'm going to give it one more try,
And if we cannot get it right,
We go our separate ways
And ask love for another chance at another time.
