Spring Cleaning
So you know what time it is
spring cleaning time.
I know everybody remembers spring cleaning time at home. We had to really clean up and sweep behind doors, dust off the base boards, and clean out the garage and the attic.
Well, we as college students should really "clean" out our lives and surrounding areas.
So what needs to be cleaned you ask? Well peers, we sometimes become hoarders.
Simply saying that sometimes we hold on to the things that don't mean a hill of beans.
For example, detrimental relationships. Case in point: if your significant other does not understand that the time you spend studying is more important than the time you guys spend skyping and twittering sweet nothings to each other, there's a problem. OK I know he or she loves you, but if that's really the case maybe they'll love the fact that you are focused on your goals.
It's a reality that not all mates are really our "mates."
Sometimes, it's hard for us to clean out or get rid of that person that's weighing us down but we've got to listen to that voice in our head telling us to keep going.
What about the company you keep? If you find yourself being ridiculed or ostracized for "being productive," then maybe those people really aren't your friends. If your "friends'" example of being productive is buying new rims and polos for the low, instead of buying books for that class that they are going to have a D in by midterms maybe you should reconsider.
Believe it or not, sometimes people really befriend others with the intentions of hurting them in some way. Haters do exist. Let's clean them out of our lives.
Once again, let's not be hoarders. We must let go and let God. Whatever baggage we have is no longer important.
