Prospective Panthers experience 'The Hill'
Prairie View A&M University welcomed more than 500 high school seniors and parents to campus Saturday for Senior Day on the Hill.
Senior Day on the Hill is an opportunity for seniors and transfer students to learn more about the school, prospective majors and minors, and admissions standards such as testing, grades, and scholarship opportunities. This experience gives students the chance to get acquainted with "The Hill."
Students and parents in attendance received information regarding THEA Testing, on-campus housing, athletics, and auxiliary services. They were also introduced to the variety of campus activities and organizations, including Panther Advisory Leaders, National Association of Black Accountants, and National Society of Collegiate Scholars, all of which volunteered their time and effort to accommodate the visitors.
Future Panthers and parents were offered personal tours of the campus. A large number of attendees were prospective nursing majors, which is evidence of the university's reputation for its nursing program.
Sophomore business management major Dominique Brock said, "It was interesting getting to meet all of those who I was able to tour and help out. I think this is an excellent way for students to get a head start on their future and actually see what Prairie View has to offer."
The university will recruit again Feb. 26 at Pantherland Day.
