ABC's "Scandal" based off real life scenarios

The stories of Judy Smith , crisis management expert, greatly impacted American screenwrier Shonda Rhimes to produce ABC's hit television show "Scandal."
Ranked one of the highest rated TV shows according to E! Entertainment, Scandal stars Kerry Washington who plays the role of Olivia Pope, a White House communications director who leaves to start her own crisis management firm.
Her character tells the story of Smith as they collaborate to tell the features of real life "scandals."
Earlier this year in August of 2013, Paula Dean admitted to using a racial slur against African Americans and Smith was in fact hired to clear her name.
Although Dean lost promotions from up to 12 companies resulting in a loss as much as $12.5 million according to Daily News, her name has been cleared from the air thanks to Smith.
