CAB addresses issues between genders
Prairie View A&M students gathered to address issues and ask questions about the opposite sex in an open forum held Tuesday in the MSC Ballroom.
At the "Real Talk: What Were you Thinking?" seminar, students were given the opportunity to submit questions to which they have always wanted honest answers.
"The purpose of this seminar was to give students the chance to ask anonymous questions to each other and get real answers," said senior health major Shamia Gaines, who serves as Campus Activities Board Speakers and Lectures Committee Coordinator.
Many were concerned about issues that arise between males and females every day such as relationships, intimacy, friendships and personal preferences.
"I think everyone who attended the seminar left enlightened on male and female behaviors and why they act that way. Many males wonder why women are 'crazy.' Well now they know why," said Shante' Moore, Program Coordinator, when speaking on the outcome of the seminar.
This is just the first of many "real talks" and seminars hosted by the Speakers and Lectures Committee addressing issues affecting the black community and how to build stronger relationships. Other seminars will inform students about other topics and issues, such as women wearing weave in the upcoming "Remy vs. Real" seminar.
