Halloween tricks may end in death for cautious drivers

Oct. 31, a night for seemingly harmless fun, candy and costumed entertainment with the occasional prank by adventure seeking teens is also believed to be a night for potential Blood gang members to gain their right of passage or be initiated.
According to journalist David A. Love, gang initiations take place every year requiring potential members to murder 30 to 34 white females to gain access to that gang.
Another suspected initiation game involves driving a car along the road with no taillights. The first driver to flash lights as a warning signal is viciously chased down and murdered.
Gang initiations have been a part of American culture since the arrival of membership based clubs. These legitimate clubs and organizations often have some form of process that potential members must go through to be inducted.
According to Robert Walker of GangsorUs.com an initiation is "a rite, ceremony or instructions with which one is made a member of a sect or society, or is vested with a particular function or status."
Law-abiding groups usually have far less violent and dangerous processes for the public than gangs do. The ferocity with which prospective inductees must commit their to new "family" exceeds even that of the myth of the Halloween rite of passage.
It is widely accepted that the threat of mass Halloween murders and attack on helpful motorists are myths, however there are rumors that such deadly initiation games do exist.
Recently in Texas, vehicles have been spotted driving around with their lights off and the first innocent they see is met with a barrage of bullets.
Adrian Simon, a 23-year-old resident of Spring Branch, Texas, was walking along a street when a car with no headlights drove past her, shooting automatic weapons at her person. Thankfully, she was able to escape the assault by ducking for cover but she said, "After they were past me, they shot more rounds at other people." Simon presumed these people were innocent as she was, with no known gang affiliations.
The Spring Branch area is replete with gang culture and Simon thinks that the drive by incident was related to gang initiation. Other initiation games that include a threat to public safety are armed robbery, assault, rape and murder.
Although there are many myths about when and how gangs conduct their recruitment and initiation, it is clear that life and death is a game to they play out at their whim.
