Faculty speak on needed improvements
The faculty and staff of Prairie View A&M University get to see young people enter and leave the univeristy.
Members of the staff agree an improvement the campus could make involves student morale.
"I think that the spirit of the university could be a lot better," said Alisha Lowe, volunteer services coordinator. "It is a trickle down effect. If the people in leadership positions had better attitudes others would adopt the same attitudes."
Customer services associate Melanie Porter believes there is another answer to boosting student morale.
"I think that if we had a campus charter bus, not only would it save us a lot of money, but we would take pride in riding on a big bus advertising our school," she said. "You would see the excitement and student body morale when we go on trips."
Administrative assistant Valerie Gibson said she sees a lot of students in the Office of Student Engagement and students have a lot of power.
"Students have a lot of influence here. They should be happy about that," she said.
