Chasmine Cousins crowned Miss PV 2012-2013
Best formal wear, best talent and best interview question winner Chasmine Cousins was named the 43rd Miss Prairie View A&M University at the pageant held in the Opal Johnson Smith Auditorium on April 25.
Eight beautiful young women competed in the pageant with the theme "Journey to the Orient."
Contestants competed in private interview which was done prior to the pageant, swimwear, talent, formal wear and impromptu question and answer.
After Miss Prairie View A&M University 2011-2012 Lakesha Clark said her farewell to the crowd Miss Prairie View Court was announced with best swimsuit, most ads placed, and best walk winner Tiana Johnson as the first runner-up and best private interview winner BriAna Franklin was named second runner-up.
Senior biology major Arielle Scott-Turner, who helped with the pageant, said, "The girls put in a lot of hard work and effort and truly transitioned into an ideal Miss Prairie View."
The judges were impressed by all the contestants' beauty and intelligence, but mainly Cousin's unique doll dance.
"The theme was spectacular and all of the ladies gave a great show. The competition was very stiff this year and it was hard to determine a winner," said judge Sonya L. Cravin.
