Wildcats show no mercy for Panthers
The Prairie View A&M Panthers failed to handle business on Saturday as they were toppled 65-45 by the Abilene Christian Wildcats.
Wildcats quarterback John Baker completed 31 of 43 passes for 486 yards and four touchdowns. Leading the way for the Wildcats in receiving, was Dar Cantu-Hark with 131 yards. Charcan West rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns with his longest run being 60 yards.
Nearly 1,300 yards of total offense took place on Saturday with PV totaling 593 total offensive yards. Brown rushed for 131 yards on 20 carries followed by 101 from Johnta' Hebert. Lovelocke passed for 310 yards and five touchdowns while Cooper caught nine passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and also broke the all-time receiving yards record title that was held since 1971. Robert Jackson led the defense with 11 tackles, a half-sack and pass break-up.
Brown also surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the first time in his career and became the first Panther to do so since 2008.
The Panthers close out the 2013 season at home versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 1 p.m. at Blackshear Field and hope to send off the seniors with a win on their big day.
