#PV17 Invasion
Freshmen converged on Prairie View A&M University grounds with their clothes, shoes, furniture, and more. Not only were their utilities set in stone, they brought their style and declarations to the table.
They presented to all upperclassmen, faculty, and staff that the Class of 2017, or "PV 17" as they are commonly known, were here and ready to dominate during the traditional Panther Week. The newly welcomed Panthers strutted through the MSC with no disinclination, letting their manifestation be known. Sophomore education major Roberto Peoples broadcast in his video post on Instagram, "Lawd, it has already started! PV17 trying to be live in the MSC. They out'chea!"
Freshmen have already been on the move by networking, branding themselves, and being industrious. Well-known Twitter account PV Exposed which is not affiliated with the university and has the "inside scoop on what's going down on the yard," as quoted from their bio, referred freshman Willie Arnold as one who is trying to get his title out here on Prairie View's campus as a DJ. He had an outstanding performance at the pep rally that was held Aug. 31. This event also included nursing major Melissa Adams, who is currently running for the title of freshman homecoming queen.
An increase in undergraduate enrollment is expected to be recorded for the 2013-2014 school year, thanks to the freshman class. Knowing that, it is apparent that "PV 17" will make meaningful contributions to campus life this year. As a unit, these students have many things to offer from remarkable athletes such as basketball player Rashaan Surles, and 800-meter runner Ashley Santos to spontaneous theater contributor freshman Deja Robinson, and others.
Prairie View's class of 2017 is the cream of the crop. They are young, edgy, exciting and are unlikely to be classified as just freshman; they are growing young men and women who have a lot to offer.
Senior mechanical engineering major Walter Merell said, "I feel they are very energetic and proud to be Panthers."
