Slacks v. Jeans
Fashion is a big deal at PVAMU, but what attire do men on our campus prefer most: slacks or jeans.
Some feel that slacks can be worn in casual and formal settings, while others prefer the more relaxed look of jeans instead.
However, there is a limit to it. Some fashionable jeans do not give a great impression when worn baggy or below the waist.
Freshman, Craeton Johnson felt that jeans could be suitable for any setting, formal or casual, as long as you have the right top to correlate with them. Slacks on the other hand give the more professional look even when your out in a casual setting.
Sophomore Paisley Horn prefers a guy in slacks because she says it gives him a professional look, and makes him look like he cares about his appearance.
In a survey, 32 out of 50 on this campus men preferred jeans over slacks for regular attire.
Biology teacher Dr. Quincy Moore prefers to wear slacks, and for his students to wear jeans.
"Jeans give a clean look. Its just when you wear jeans the wrong way they give the wrong message," said Moore.
By giving the wrong message students can be portrayed as hostile, without any sense of morals.
But as an ambitious student at an institute of higher learning, you should want to be presentable at all times, whether in a classroom or a casual environment.
